Nairobi among top ten wealthiest cities in Africa.

Nairobi is the economic hub of East Africa and one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. It is also among the top ten wealthiest cities in Africa.

Nairobi is the economic hub of East Africa and one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. It is also among the top ten wealthiest cities in Africa. Affluent parts of Nairobi include Runda Estate, Lavington, Kitisuru, Karen and Muthaiga. Major industries there include financial services, real estate, tourism, media, clothing, textiles, processed foods, beverages and cigarettes.

Nairobi’s total private wealth is valued at 48 billion US dollars. This wealth includes cash, properties, business, etc. owned by the 4 million people residing in the ‘Green City under the Sun’. This is according to the Africa Wealth Report 2022, published by Henley and Brothers.

The city ranks number 6 behind Johannesburg, Cape Town, Cairo, Lagos and Durban. The other two cities in the top ten are Pretoria, Casablanca, Accra and Luanda respectively.

Approximately 5400 High Net Worth Individuals reside in the city. These are individuals whose wealth is valued at more than 1 million US dollars.

Approximately 260 individuals are multimillionaires i.e. Their wealth value is 10 million US dollars or more.

12 individuals are centimillionaires. That means their wealth is valued at 100 million US dollars or more.
